Look, I don’t want to say The Good Place is good with big reveals, but… The Good Place is good with big reveals.

How many times every season have we watched this show turn our expectations upside-down? It feels like it happens every single episode. Last week’s episode was more of the same. Just as we start to think that maybe The Good Place is falling into that season 3 complacency that other shows do, we end with our four humans stumbling upon the truth.

Again.

Here is the official, very vague synopsis for this week’s episode, in case you missed it:

"The group explores the three main branches of ethical thought."

You know, no matter how many times our Team Cockroach discovers the truth, it somehow never gets old. There’s always a different spin on it, different character responses. Our four main characters are different people now than who they were before the Judge reset everything.

So how will they react to knowing their second chances after death is nothing more than a bet between two eternal beings?

That’s a lot to take in, ethically speaking (even not ethically speaking). Our humans don’t know anything about their past afterlives or what Chidi’s study was really for.

This might be too much to take in. I can already see the Chidi meltdown. And will Michael tell the group that Trevor was a double-agent from the Bad Place? Well, maybe it’s best not to overwhelm them too much from the start.
