Concept art for Ant-Man and the Wasp reveals a Quantum Realm suit, showing how important the subatomic world could turn out to be.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is out on Blu-ray now, so fans of the movie can get excited. This film was a lighter and funnier fare than Infinity War and other Marvel movies as of late, and it was a nice reprieve after losing so many of our favorite heroes in Infinity War.

But even though most of the movie was fun and light, in the post-credits scene, we see that Scott Lang gets stuck in the Quantum Realm when the Thanos snap happens, and Hope, Janet, and Hank are dusted.

To honor the home release of the movie, Marvel’s director of visual development, Andy Park, posted a picture on Twitter showing concept art he created of an Ant-Man suit. This suit is one that is made to be used in the Quantum Realm. While the suit wasn’t used in the final movie, it does show how likely it is that the Quantum Realm will play an important part in Marvel movies going forward.

In the tweet, Park has this to say about the image: “An early idea was floating around that Scott. So Peyton wanted me to come up with a Quantum suit and being able to see that pretty Rudd face too.”

The suit looks very suitable for space, and it also looks similar to the one that Hank Pym wears when he uses his technology to shrink down and enter the Quantum Realm to try and get his wife, Janet, back. The suit is quite bold with its red and black color scheme.

Many suspect that the Quantum Realm will play a big part in the MCU in future movies including Avengers 4. There are many theories about how this space will help the heroes in Avengers 4 save the world and maybe even get the people who were dusted by Thanos back. You can check out a couple of those theories here.

Of course, nothing is really known for certain at this point about Avengers 4 and what will happen. But, the director of Ant-Man and the Wasp, Peyton Reed, has hinted that one popular theory could be true. When asked about time-travel theories and whether time travel would play a part in Avengers 4 he said, “Based on the science that we’ve set up in the first movie and this one, I won’t rule out the possibility [of time travel], because, again, we are dealing with a Time Vortex. That could happen.” A small part some may have missed in the movie, the Time Vortex is something Scott Lang was warned about avoiding in the Quantum Realm.

Time travel might not be the only way the realm helps the Avengers. Other theories have wondered if the Quantum Realm will be how the heroes rescue those who were turned to dust in the Thano snap. Possibly, the snapped away heroes reside in this realm, or this strange part of the MCU could be used to rescue them from some other place like the Soul Stone.
