The Dead Body Crawling Towards Theo

In the scene after Luke is discovered to be missing after the funeral in “Two Storms,” we see Theo and Hugh following what appears to be wet tracks heading into Shirley’s office in the funeral home. Seeing the wet ground should immediately have you worried about what these two are going to find, but as they stand there looking at the mess in Shirley’s office, it’s the shadow near the desk that catches their attention — and ours.

Knowing that both Hugh and Theo are able to see the shadow that seems to be moving out towards them does not make us feel any better. In fact, we were as jumpy as the father and daughter are on-scren. So when the ghost, which resembles nothing so much as a rotting corpse, comes out into the dim light from the shadows and starts crawling towards Theo, we wanted to scream right along with her.

It may have been a quick moment thanks to Shirley coming in upon hearing Theo scream, but it is definitely one scene we’re having a hard time forgetting. Moreover, it’s definitely making us consider ever being alone in a funeral home again (even if the Crains have a lot of ghosts to contend with … and viewers, maybe not so much).
