Now that the fanfare surrounding the debut of the first female Doctor is over, what’s next for Doctor Who?

Well, the rest of season 11, for starters.

Premiere episode “The Woman Who Fell to Earth” introduced Jodie Whittaker as the franchise’s first female Doctor, and that’s a big deal. But in almost every way that counted, the character felt the same as she ever has, and that’s maybe an even bigger one.

So now it’s time to move forward, on to a proper adventure where the focus isn’t so much on the Doctor’s regeneration.

It would seem likely that “The Ghost Monument” will pick up right after the cliffhanger that closed the season 11 premiere. After all, that episode’s final moments saw the Doctor, Yaz, Graham and Ryan floating in the vastness of space after Thirteen accidentally transported them there.

Since the rest of season 11 exists, it seems pretty likely that our intrepid gang of space travelers will get out of the dangerous situation they are currently in, and quickly too. But how?

Furthermore, the official BBC synopsis indicates that our crew may not be landing on one of the friendlier planets.

"Still reeling from their first encounter, can the Doctor and her new friends stay alive long enough in a hostile alien environment to solve the mystery of Desolation? And just who are Angstrom and Epzo?"

Other questions we all desperately need answers to: Where is the TARDIS?

Unfortunately, the trailer for this episode doesn’t seem to have a blue police box in it anywhere… We’ll have to wait and see what happens, I suppose.
