Oogie Boogie and his lair

Not only is Oogie Boogie an amazing character (for a villain), but the setting we find him in is impressive. Here is one of the best animated villains ever seen on screen. He is a literal embodiment of the boogeyman made of a burlap sack that is also filled with bugs, snakes, and spiders (gross).

Even in the movie, he is described as the meanest being ever by the kids who helped kidnap Santa Claus. And once you meet Oogie Boogie, you have to think he loves being considered the meanest guy around. Beyond being mean, he is also clearly power-hungry and even sadistic. And when you consider this is a Disney movie, that is saying something. He is a true villain in every sense of the word.

Beyond the character himself, his lair is also something worth talking about, especially with its casino-centric theme. And considering he is known to gamble with other people’s lives, it makes sense that his lair is in the theme of a casino. Even if he is not very lucky and admits to cheating, a casino theme makes sense for him. Plus, there is something about the jazz music that gives Oogie Boogie his flair that really seals the deal.
