Supernatural season 14 episode 1 live stream: Watch online

Supernatural season 14 will start tonight. Along with everyone frantically searching for Dean, some characters have problems of their own to deal with.

It’s easily assumed that the first episode of Supernatural season 14 will focus mainly on Dean, and the archangel Michael who possessed the older Winchester brother during last season’s finale.

However, don’t get comfortable because it looks like we have lots of time to explore other issues going on in the show, mainly regarding Jack — Lucifer’s son recently turned human.

The synopsis from The CW for tonight’s show is:

"ALL HANDS ON DECK – Sam (Jared Padalecki) enlists everyone’s help in trying to track down Dean (Jensen Ackles), who can literally be anywhere. Meanwhile, Castiel (Misha Collins) may be in over his head after meeting up with an unreliable source. After being drained of his grace in season 13, Jack (Alexander Calvert) is adjusting to life as a human, learning new skills and figuring out how he fits in to this world of hunters."

Whilst Sam will be striving to find Dean with all his power, and somehow release him from Michael’s possession, it’s suggested Jack will be coming to terms with being human, and therefore powerless. While season 13 of the show followed Jack’s journey in learning to control his powers and choose the path of good rather than evil, this season will definitely be difficult and feel unknown to Jack. Being drained of everything that made him who he was is going to be a big mental and physical barrier for the character. Will Jack’s struggles negatively impact the searching for Dean?

The synopsis also talks about Castiel potentially gathering information from an outside source. This will most likely be an angel or demon who has knowledge on Michael’s whereabouts. This wouldn’t be the first time Castiel recklessly interacted with a villain on the show. His character has previously made terrible mistakes, resulting in a lot of death and destruction, even when he believed he was doing the right thing at the time.

Accompanying these side plots will be the main focus of the episode where Sam illustrates that he will do anything to find Dean. Dean’s been missing many times before and we have seen Sam make disastrous choices to get his brother back; will this time be different or will Sam be even more determined to find him?

Alongside our heroes’ many troubles, Michael will presumably be riding his wave, possessing Dean and causing havoc and misery in his wake. There are no limits to what his end goal will be.
