It’s time for How to Get Away with Murder to put Emmett Crawford (and Timothy Hutton, who plays him) to work doing more than just talking to Annalise.
How to Get Away with Murder has a ton to get to in this week’s episode, considering that the title, “The Baby Was Never Dead,” doesn’t even come up in the synopsis.
Expect a big surprise at some point in the episode, though, about Bonnie’s baby, presumably.
Via ABC, here’s this week’s synopsis:
"Annalise and Emmett defend a wealthy CEO accused of killing his business partner, while the governor goes after Annalise and puts her new caseload and legal clinic in jeopardy. Bonnie struggles to accept her budding romance, and Asher tries to outmaneuver his old mentor."
Okay, it’s time to give How to Get Away with Murder some props, because two of these things have actually come up in previous episodes! Multi-episode arcs that aren’t just about the flash-forward? Yes, it may have taken a while to get back to this format, but setting something up only for a payoff to happen in the next episode that isn’t a twist of some sort is some solid plotting for a show that has sometimes lacked in that department.

That being said, Asher has been trying to outmaneuver Annalise anyway, because his feelings are picked that he didn’t get to make it into the clinic, but apparently, it’s to a new level to merit a mention in the synopsis for the episode itself.
As for Bonnie’s fling with the new DA, let’s be honest with each other here. It’s probably going to end in murder or otherwise just badly in general. The only couple that feels allowed to be happy on this show is Connor and Oliver, and even then, they have to do it while also living with Michaela, Laurel, and baby Christopher. It’s certainly not ideal, but at least the show is continuing to confront the idea that everyone gets to live in unreasonably fancy apartments.
