Poldark season 4 episode 2 live stream: Watch online
It’s political time yet again on this week’s episode of Poldark, and though the previews try to make it a mystery, we have a sense we know what’ll happen.
After a rather good premiere last week, it seems like Poldark has settled into its main themes of season 4: politically stepping outside of Cornwall even as there’s a renewed focus on Demelza and Ross trying to make things work.
At least, that’s what the synopsis is trying to sell for this week’s episode, with an added bonus for fans of Dwight and Caroline.
Here it is, via PBS:
"The Poldarks determine to get their relationship on track and the Enyses announce they’re expecting a child. Hugh’s health prevents him for standing in the election, so the candidacy is offered to Ross — but will he accept?"
Let’s start with the political angle. There was a lot made in last week’s episode about how Ross had refused to take the offer from Francis Bassett, leaving George to take his place and get to add those all-important MP letters after his name. Call it foreshadowing for this week’s episode, because I don’t think there’s any way that Ross says no for a second time — especially not since it means he’d be able to mess with George in public and call it politics.
As for the relationship angle, the exchange between Ross and Demelza at the end of last week’s premiere seemed like a genuine breakthrough. Will it last forever? Probably not. But that’s the nature of an ongoing drama.
Finally, it seems like the news of Caroline having a baby will spread, which is good, since those two deserve all the happiness.
