How to Get Away with Murder came back last week with an episode that not only set up a new flash-forward mystery, but also managed to have concrete developments in the present of the show without resulting to wild twists.

This week’s episode has the ominous title of “Whose Blood is That?” Let’s hope it doesn’t portend anything bad for the episode’s quality, if not necessarily the characters.

ABC’s official synopsis looks like this:

"Annalise preps to defend her first class action plaintiff and adjusts to the politics of the new job. Meanwhile, Frank is suspicious of Gabriel and does some investigating of his own, and Asher complicates Bonnie’s new life away from Annalise."

In case you missed it, Annalise is no longer her own boss. Although she extricated plenty of demands from Caplan & Gold, that doesn’t mean that the office is entirely hers. Remember: Tegan Price definitely isn’t cool with her being there, and we’d gamble that that sentiment is shared by at least some of the other lawyers who may have been passed over thanks to Annalise’s big splash of a hire.

The episode photos also show that Timothy Hutton’s character, Emmett Crawford, will pay a visit to Annalise’s class, so expect a bit more verbal sparring between the two of them. We’re distinctly here for that, at the very least.

As for everything else, Frank being suspicious of Gabriel isn’t new. Nor is Asher being the worst, really.
