Rami Malek

Rami Malek is set to portray Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, out this November. So an SNL hosting gig makes perfect sense! Who knows — maybe we’ll see him act plus appear with the musical performer of the night as well.

Malek, known for his award-winning role of Elliot Alderson on Mr. Robot, does have a humorous side we could see play out on SNL. Just watch his interview with Seth Meyers and you’ll see what we mean. With Rami gearing up to show off his performance as Freddie Mercury to the world, perhaps we can get some parodies of the iconic Queen star for a sketch. Why not bring back Mike Myers and Dana Carvey for a wild new edition of Wayne’s World, where Mercury actually rocks out with them?

Malek could offer some major rockstar vibes to the show, having discussed how he looked forward to filming the concert scenes for the film. While Rami may not be able to go on tour, performing live in studio 8H is the next best thing. We’re truly interested to see how he’d handle sketch comedy, as we’re mostly used to seeing Malek in serious roles (with the exception of his character in Night At the Museum).
