While Searching is definitely not a funny movie (it focuses on a missing daughter and Cho’s character uses technology to help find his daughter), John Cho is someone who has continually shown he can make an audience laugh.

One of his early movies was Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle, an insane film about two friends trying to get a burger from the famous fast food joint. But he’s yet to host Saturday Night Live himself, and we’re pretty shcoked by that.

Searching was released on August 31 but continues to get buzz with a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 92 percent. So why not help the movie continue to get the acclaim it deserves by having John Cho tackle SNL?

Cho is also part of the Star Trek cast and while some of his castmates have either cameoed on the show or hosted, he’s yet to gain that host spotlight. If Cho got an early hosting spot for the new season, he’d not only be able to promote Searching but offer a positive look at the upcoming Star Trek 4 (that doesn’t have to do with the money dispute between Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth).
