Blake Lively

Having hosted back in 2009, Blake Lively is a regular on the show. She continually cameos in sketches and has proven with her hosting that she’s one of the greats. Lively’s greatest moment still has to be in the insanity that is the “Potato Chip Thief” sketch that still baffles audiences to this day (This think piece was written in 2016 and the sketch aired in 2009).

With her movie, A Simple Favor, coming out this September, it would be a wonderful time to bring Blake back to the Saturday Night Live stage. Her costar in the film, Anna Kendrick, has also hosted the show before and maybe, since the film is about the two of them, they could co-host the show together.

Both have backgrounds that include comedy and we’ve seen their abilities while hosting SNL so it could be a fun way to promote A Simple Favor. It wouldn’t be the first time that SNL had two hosts (most recently Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the Christmas episode together in 2015) and it won’t be the last. If not, let Blake Lively take on the mantle once more so we can maybe see a continuation to the “Potato Chip Thief” sketch. Hopefully, that man got hired at NASA and continued to steal food.
