Marvel fan has a special request for Stan Lee’s cameo in Captain Marvel

One Marvel fan thinks Stan Lee’s cameo for Captain Marvel should be different from the rest because it’s set in the ’90s. Can you guess how?

Stan Lee has had his share of absolutely brilliant cameos throughout many of the Marvel movies — from the Marvel Studios movies down to films by other studios like The Amazing Spider-Man and Daredevil. And since Stan Lee’s cameos are always a much-anticipated scene to look out for in Marvel films, they always have to be extra special and not lackluster at all.

That’s why one Marvel fan thinks the next MCU movie, Captain Marvel, has the opportunity to create one of the best Stan Lee cameo scenes yet. The movie takes place in the ’90s, meaning it precedes a lot of the events we’ve seen in the MCU so far. It also means we’ll see some younger versions of characters we already know.

Nick Fury, most noticeably, will be digitally de-aged to look like his ’90s self (or rather, ’90s Samuel L. Jackson.) We’ll also get a younger version of Clark Gregg’s Phil Coulson thrown in the midst, so it makes perfect sense to have just one more younger character appear in the movie… a young Stan Lee!

This idea comes from Reddit user Vin13ish, who asked the r/MarvelStudios what they thought about a having a younger Stan Lee appear as the cameo.

There was a mixed bag of reactions from fans. Some embraced the idea, thinking that it would be a fun way to add an extra something to his cameos.

Other fans thought Lee should stay as he is in the movie, especially since he wasn’t de-aged in Captain America: The First Avengers, which took place during World War II.

Some Reddit users even got a bit meta, saying that Stan Lee defies all the boundaries of time and space in the MCU, so he should just be his normal self. That, we have to agree, is pretty accurate because Stan Lee always feels like a timeless being.

The most out-there suggestion had us thinking about the future, with Reddit user TechniChara saying that technology today could help us have Stan Lee cameos even after he’s long gone. Although we’re not completely ready to think about that possibility just yet, one thing’s for certain: there’s nothing like a true Stan Lee cameo played by the man himself.
