Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Who worked with whom?
Even though Game of Thrones season 8 has officially wrapped production, tidbits are still coming out about who filmed with whom and where.
Warning: It may have been a while, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t still talk about some Game of Thrones spoilers.
Although each day brings us closer and closer to Game of Thrones season 8 finally airing (even though there are still many days left to go), there are still rumors and reports coming out about the filming in Seville. As per usual, it’s the fans over at r/freefolk who deserve the hat tip here, having pulled up these tweets in Spanish that claim to have some of the stars’ schedules for Dragonpit filming.
Thanks to some rough translating, we have an idea of what these rumors actually are. As per usual, take them with a grain of salt, but here’s what’s going on.
First, Kit Harington and Vladimir Furdik (also known as Jon Snow and the Night King) weren’t in Seville at the same time. As Jose Señarís Romay notes, this does matter for the end of Game of Thrones.
The more yours truly talks about it with Dan Selcke, host of Take the Black Live (including the bonus episode we shot for WiC Club), the likelier it seems that anything in the Dragonpit might precede the burning of King’s Landing — perhaps a last-ditch effort to secure peace between Daenerys and Cersei before the armies of the dead arrive? And when (not if) things go south, that could suggest that it’s Daenerys who burns the city. That makes sense, especially considering how many actors were in Seville at one point or another.
However, the next part of Romay’s report says that Lena Headey and Harington won’t be together in Dragonpit scenes:
We know they were in Dubrovnik together, since there are literal photos of them filming; for them not to share Dragonpit scenes doesn’t necessarily mean their characters aren’t in the same location at the same time. It may be that the major conversation there is between Daenerys and Cersei, and Jon lets his new lady love take the lead.
We want to repeat that these are just rumors and reports, but they could help us place the Dragonpit meeting more concretely in the Game of Thrones season 8 timeline. Tell us your best theories below!
