“2002” – Anne-Marie

The name Anne-Marie might not sound super familiar to you yet, but you definitely know her voice. The British singer was on the smash Clean Bandit hit “Rockabye” with Sean Paul, and had another hit with her collaboration with Marshmello, “Friends.” Her latest single, “2002,” is a major throwback to the best of early 2000s music, referencing artists like Britney Spears, NSYNC, and Jay-Z.

Besides the fact that the video is chock full of nostalgic references, Anne-Marie is serving us pure 2000s fashion, and we love every second of it. She gives us Britney Spears in “Baby One More Time” for most of the video, sporting a school girl outfit just like Brit did so many years ago. She has her blonde hair in pigtails, a tied up white button down, a grey kilt, and a cardigan on top.

The Britney look may be our absolute favorite — because you can never go wrong with a good Britney-inspired outfit — but Anne-Marie wasn’t done. She also rocks a bikini top with baggy track pants, and an oversized winter jacket, slouching casually off her shoulders. It looks like something Mel B from the Spice Girls would rock, and we are totally here for it.

Between Anne-Marie and Cardi’s look from “Finesse,” it seems like the 90s and early 2000s fashions are definitely making a huge comeback! Who would’ve thought that all those acid wash jeans, chokers, and crop tops that we thought were so awful would ever be in fashion again? As long as crimped hair, brown lipstick with dark lip liner, and frosted eyeshadow don’t make a comeback, we’re good!
