“IDGAF” – Dua Lipa

If it wasn’t already clear, we love when artists play with more androgynous styles and blur the lines of gender. We already looked at Troye Sivan’s “Bloom” and how he explored more feminine styles, but this time we’re looking at Dua Lipa and her more menswear-inspired style.

In the music video for “IDGAF,” Dua is battling herself. One of the Duas is in a navy blue suit, with a cropped dress shirt, high-waisted billowy pants, and a long coat. She’s also wearing a single chandelier earring and white Adidas sneakers. All her dancers are dressed exactly the same way as her.

On the other side, the other Dua and her dancers are also wearing the same outfit, but theirs are in orange and their single earrings are on the opposite ear. The dueling Duas battle each other — through dance — and it’s like West Side Story, only with better clothes.

The striking contrast between the blue and the orange and the dancers all mixing together in their matching suits is a great visual, and we always love a woman in a good suit. Dua has been playing around with fashion a lot, and you never really know what to expect from her. Sometimes she’s giving glamor, but her usual style is more hip and eclectic.

She may not be known for her fashion choices, but she’s still new on the scene, so who knows what the future holds for the singer. If she keeps taking risks with her style, there’s no telling what it can lead to!
