“Crayons” – CupcakKe
We’re moving from one rap queen to another. If you don’t know CupcakKe yet, you are seriously missing out. The 21-year-old rapper from Chicago is known for being frank about sexuality, and that’s what we love about her. She has also been a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ community, and released two songs specifically about the queer community. First came “LGBT.” More recently, she released the single “Crayons,” which features some great looks.
CupcakKe rocks a rainbow fur coat over a yellow top and tie-dye jeans. To make it even better, the coat has LED lights embedded in it. Now that’s how you do rainbow couture right! It’s flashy and bright, looking like something out of a cartoon. Who wouldn’t love that?
The rapper also wears a colorful graphic button-down as a dress, with Marilyn Monroe’s face on the front. Her hair is in space buns with her wild curls framing her face. The best rainbow accessory she sports in the entire video is the rainbow pride flag, though the gaggle of LGBTQ fans (we’re assuming) dancing behind her definitely don’t hurt. There’s nothing more fashionable than vocal support for a great cause!
For a video praising the LGBTQ community, CupcakKe got the style perfectly right. Rainbow can easily come off as tacky, and a lot of the outfits in the video could be considered exceptionally awful on some people. But something about CupcakKe’s attitude helps her pull it off with ease.
We’re going to be dreaming of that light-up rainbow fur coat for days now.
