2013 – Frozen

Did you have any children around you in 2013? Or did you go outside at all? If you did, then you probably heard “Let It Go” from Frozen. A new Disney classic, the movie was breathtaking visually but musically, we heard that song so.. many.. times.

The movie centers on Elsa and Anna of Arendelle. Elsa is queen and Anna, her younger sister, loves her so much but is constantly pushed away. Elsa has a chilling magical ability that almost killed her sister Anna when they were younger. She can produce ice from her hand and, while fun, struck Anna accidentally and these little trolls had to help her. Elsa is scared of that power, and ever since, has refused to get close to her sister — either to hug her or emotionally be there for her.

When their parents die, Anna and Elsa only have each other but Elsa is still afraid to let anyone in and, on her coronation, everything falls apart and she thrusts Arendelle into a winter storm in the middle of the summer.

Anna must try and reason with her sister while also battling the cold (literally). With the help of Kristoph and Olaf, Anna lets Elsa know she isn’t alone. And while all of this is happening, a creeper named Hans tries to get with Anna, to take over the kingdom, but it doesn’t work out too well for him.

While the story is amazing and a great message, everyone hates “Let It Go” now because that song was played for a year straight. If you don’t hate “Let It Go”, I have some questions. Why?!
