Check out August’s free PS Plus games that you can play now

This month, PS Plus brings us gang wars with Mafia III, survival horror multiplayer with Dead by Daylight, and a party quiz game with Knowledge is power.

This month, the free PS Plus games are Mafia III and Dead by Daylight for the PS4, Bound by Flame and Serious Sam 3: BFE for the PS3, and Draw Slasher and Space Hulk for the PS Vita. Additionally, Here They Lie is available for PSVR until October and Knowledge is Power is available until November.

Mafia III

This third-person action-adventure game developed by Hangar 13 takes place during 1968 in the fictional city of New Bordeaux, inspired by New Orleans. You’ll play as Vietnam War veteran Lincoln Clay, who seeks revenge on the local mobs for the murder of his family. Players can choose to go in guns blazing or take on a more stealthy tactic.

Dead by Daylight

Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer horror game utilizing the Unreal Engine 4 and pits up to four survivor players against one killer player. With a choice of 13 survivors to choose from who each have unique perks and a variety of items and traps, players have several strategies to elude the killer and escape. Survivors will need to repair disabled generators to open a large door or a small hatch.

Bound by Flame

In this fantasy action RPG, players customize a character that becomes the victim of demonic possession. It is up to the player to decide if they embrace their new demonic powers or reject them and take a heroic route. Depending on the choices the player makes, the game contains three different endings.

Serious Sam 3: BFE

Serious Sam 3: BFE is a first-person shooter that is a prequel to Serious Sam: The First Encounter and pits players with unlimited amounts of weapons against hordes of enemies. Levels contain health and armor power-ups as well as secret areas where weapons, ammo, health, and armor can be found.

Draw Slasher

Draw Slasher puts the action in your fingertips, literally. Using your finger, you’ll draw lines, tap, or pinch the screen to jump, dodge, slash, run, and perform powerful attacks. Players take control of Hanzo, a ninja who’s on a quest to free his family from Pirate Monkey Zombies.

Space Hulk

Taking place in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Space Hulk is a 3D turn-based strategy based on the classic board game. Players take control of a squad of Space Marine Terminators as they attempt to reclaim their honor.

Here They Lie

This psychological horror game for the PSVR has a narrative focus and brings you into a world full of creatures that lurk just out of sight. Explore the city and avoid monsters as you try to survive and uncover the mystery.

Knowledge is Power

Part of PlayLink, PlayStation’s collection of party games, Knowledge is Power is a quiz game you play with your smart device against up to five of your friends. Answer questions quicker than your friends and use Power Plays to get to the top of the Pyramid of Knowledge first.
