Sookie and Eric – True Blood

Their love story: Sookie Stackhouse was a magnet for every supernatural dreamboat within a thousand miles. It never failed, if you had a square jaw and incredible abs, and you were going to live forever, you were going to fall for this mind-reading fairy. Eric Northman was no exception.

Of course, the two started out as enemies, with Sookie huffily swinging her ponytail at him anytime she was the least bit inconvenienced. However, they began to get close in season 2, mostly thanks to Eric tricking her into drinking his blood. By season 3 there is some full-on sexual tension, and we (thankfully) get to see Eric without his shirt a lot.

Did they or didn’t they: Sadly, because Sookie has terrible taste in men, she chose Bill over Eric. However, Eric continued to be protective over Sookie, and that sweetness, mixed that that quiet ferocity, made him a real fan favorite. Who even cares if Sookie didn’t want him — the rest of us sure did.

How to watch it unfold: You can watch all of the True Blood series on HBO Max. Be warned, however, Eric is about the best thing in this show (aside from Joe Manganiello’s hairy chest and beard), so once it becomes evident she won’t pick him, you might lose interest.
