Eleanor and Chidi – The Good Place
Their love story: If you’re going to believe the powers that be, Eleanor and Chidi are soulmates, even though that decision seems very unlikely for a million reasons. Fans of the show understand the real reason their union is so odd, but even as the universe works against them, they are still kinda cute together.
Forced together in some sort of afterlife, Chidi becomes Eleanor’s teacher. Eleanor quickly becomes hot for teacher, but circumstances prevent them from getting very far with their feelings. Something or another is always off, and their timing never aligns. We can see how much they mean to each other, but their memories and the greater powers conspire to get in their way.
Did they or didn’t they: The writers were super coy about how their relationship will unfurl in the show’s first two seasons focusing on them becoming sweet friends, constant companions, and the only level-headed folks in either of the places. Luckily, they finally became official in the later seasons of the show.
