Kingsman: The Secret Service

When Kingsman: The Secret Service came out, fans everywhere were shocked. Turns out there is such a thing as an action movie that isn’t contrived or predictable. Starring unlikely action star Colin Firth, the movie has quite the cast and got so much love and attention that the series continued with Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

It also features Mark Strong, who will take on Dr. Sivana in the upcoming Shazam movie. He’s got the kind of resume that can rival the entire DCEU all by itself, but he’s also got a nuance to his acting (even in a movie that goes as out there as Kingsman does).

In Kingsman, he plays Merlin, the tech whiz who helps the spies out in the field. That’s not to say he isn’t an amazing agent himself. On the contrary, he is incredible at pretty much everything he does, even when he’s singing “Take Me Home, Country Roads” while standing on a bomb.

Merlin helps Eggsy and Harry in whatever way he can, and he’s loyal to those he protects. The movie itself is a fun watch and one of those action movies that you can’t help but cheer during. It is crazy, wild, unpredictable, and one of the best original stories out there.
