I, Tonya

Margot Robbie is proving time and time again that she is an unstoppable force. First, her Harley Quinn had fans everywhere begging for more of the character. From there, she’s only continued to give us work we love and can’t get enough of.

One of her latest movies is I, Tonya, the story of the 1994 incident involving Tonya Harding, Nancy Kerrigan, Jeff Gillooly, and Shawn Eckhardt. Based on interviews conducted with Tonya Harding, her mother, Jeff, and older interviews of Shawn prior to his death, the movie gives a unique look at the event that scarred both skaters and their careers.

Robbie not only stars but also produced the film with her company, LuckyChap, and it marked her first Academy Award nomination. Tackling abuse, public scrutiny, and the challenges that have faced Tonya Harding since the incident, I, Tonya was hands down one of the best films of 2017.

With Allison Janney and Sebastian Stan, this little indie darling got acclaim and recognition and won Janney an Academy Award for her portrayal of Lavona Harding, Tonya’s mom. It is one movie that fans still can’t stop talking about.

(Besides, Robbie is perfect as Tonya Harding, and we all love a good Margot Robbie movie, anyway.)
