Plot twist: Robert Baratheon has a hot son! For those who don’t know, King Robert Baratheon dies and his son, Joffrey, takes over as the king late in season 1. Joffrey is absolutely terrible, so when he finally gets what he deserves three seasons later, everyone cheered (and is probably still cheering to this day).

All that being said, we all know that Joffrey isn’t even really a Baratheon. Instead, he’s the son of Jaime and Cersei Lannister. That’s right: the Lannister twins. No wonder their son is an absolute monster. That being said, it means that Gendry is an actual heir to the Iron Throne.

Unfortunately, he is an unacknowledged son of King Robert, so that means that he can’t claim his birthright as a Baratheon. After all, Game of Thrones is really big on who is and who isn’t a bastard son or daughter of someone, although it ends up being funny since everyone just sleeps with one another anyway.

Still though, it doesn’t change the fact that even Arya kind of recognizes how attractive Gendry is. So when he vanished for a little while from the show, our hearts broke. Lucky for us all though, Gendry is back and looking every bit the hunk of Baratheon king we want to see sitting on that throne.
