13. Arian, “Big Little Lies” (S2, E6)

Arian, or “Ari”, is a recent college grad who is struggling to find his way through adulthood. He spends his days playing video games, eating sunflower seeds, and worst of all, smoking. He eats tons of fast food and junk, and his lazy habits are affecting his life more than he realizes.

Ari just moved out with his friend, but it turns out, he hasn’t officially graduated from his university. He failed a class and has yet to retake it, but he hasn’t told his strict, Iranian mother about the indiscretion yet. The Fab Five want to help him come into his own as an adult, boost his confidence, and rid him of his terrible habits.

He’s been struggling to keep a job as a server, and for some reason, he keeps lying to the Fab Five about everything from his job to his degree. That’s one of the habits the guys try and fix.

In the end, Ari cleans up pretty well! Jonathan gets him a nice, cleaned up fade haircut and shaved off his beard. Ari instantly perks up after his trip to the barber shop, and when he sees what Bobby did with his home, he can’t stop smiling. His living space is clean and organized, which can help him keep his life clean and organized, too.

He hosts his friends and family for a party at his house, and he seems like a real adult, even cooking a traditional Persian meal for his guests (thanks to Antoni). Arian also works up the courage to tell his strict mother that he didn’t officially graduate, despite how nervous he was to open up to her. Hopefully, the Queer Eye guys’ tips will help Ari continue to mature and get him to kick all those bad habits!
