Some of Captain Marvel’s accessories might just merit appearances for in her standalone film, as shown by Samuel L. Jackson on a T-shirt.
So far, in both set and conceptual looks at Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, we’ve seen her without any headgear, instead letting her hair flow free and her face be seen without even a little domino mask to try and retain some anonymity (she did wear them during her time as Ms. Marvel). However, that might not always be the case in Captain Marvel.
The look comes courtesy of Samuel L. Jackson, who posted a photo to Instagram over the weekend, and also via io9.
A brief aside here, but is it not delightful that this is how Jackson decided to take his selfie to show his shirt off? There are definitely other ways to accomplish this all.
One has to wonder why the visual effects team chose this version of her to show off, although there’s one pretty clear reason why: if her hair will stick up like that for combat, the team will probably have to work a little magic, lest Larson’s hair look like it’s lacquered by product.
Honestly, it’s a little tough to pull off the helmet like this. Different productions had to give it a few tries before nailing Captain America’s helmet; it might take a few attempts (probably Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, and the fairly likely Captain Marvel 2) to make sure that Carol’s helmet works well .
At the same time, though, it’s not a bad thing for more superheroines to get their helmets. Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp has one as well for Ant-Man and the Wasp later this month; it helps show that the ladies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe don’t have to show their faces to make a mark on the universe.

We’re excited to see how visual effects can make Carol look like a boss when the movie comes out early next year.
