Lord of the Rings (Andy Serkis)

Andy Serkis in a movie as a person is relatively hard to come by. Which is why he is a CGI creation in Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. As Supreme Leader Snoke, he takes on his true form of just being CGI’d into a movie.

You know what made us all aware of his CGI ability? Lord of the Rings. The trilogy, based on the novels by J.R.R Tolkien, Andy Serkis plays Gollum (or Smeagol). He is easily one of the most recognizable characters in the entire series.

It helps that he continually says “My precious” over and over again, now a universally recognized way to reference Lord of the Rings. Andy isn’t on screen, obviously, but the trilogy is well-beloved for a reason. It is incredible!

Fans of all ages can enjoy the world of Middle Earth and follow the Hobbits as they try and destroy the ring in the fires of Mordor. You don’t have to read the books to understand the films (Peter Jackson did a great job of making it easy for everyone to understand).

Then again, you can also watch The Hobbit movies to see Andy Serkis as Gollum too. He’s that great.
