Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger season 1 episode 5 preview: Princeton Offense

In this week’s episode of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger, it seems Tandy wants to dig deeper into her dad’s death while Tyrone just wants to be a normal kid.

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger hasn’t leaned too heavily on teenage drama just yet. But it may start heading that way for one of our main characters.

Tyrone and Tandy ended last week’s episode on less-than-friendly terms. That’s not good for either character, and it really is a matter of time before they make amends.

Until then… these two are going to grow on their own.

Here is the official synopsis for this week’s episode, courtesy of Freeform:

"Tandy is consumed with getting answers about the Roxxon cover up. To get the answers she is looking for, Tandy tests out her power to gain new insights. Tyrone, on the other hand, is focusing on being a normal kid as the basketball state finals approach. With so much weighing on him lately, can he truly push everything to the side and win the big game for Billy? Meanwhile, Det. O’Reilly looks into the city’s drug problems to get some answers of her own."

I feel like this episode will lean very heavily on Tyrone’s basketball game and draw more on the teenage/high school drama. That’s not necessarily a bad thing — and not something we get often in Marvel shows. It might be a fun change of pace.

Tandy looks like she’s ready and willing to use her powers to gain what she wants. That’s a dangerous thing. She’ll need Tyrone sooner or later to balance her out.

Until then, both of these characters feel like wild cards. They’re going to get into a situation and have their powers go out of control. Or call the other one to them.

And it’s going to be all sorts of ridiculous.
