Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger: What’s with that voodoo doll?

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger’s latest episode had Tyrone seeking out voodoo to help him find his way. But things may have gone awry without him knowing.

Three episodes in and Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger seems to cut a winding plot path already.

So far that’s a good thing. It feels different from Agents of SHIELD or Agent Carter and a little more on par with any of the Netflix series.

In the most recent episode, Tyrone and Tandy separately tried to figure out what’s going on with them. Tyrone’s attempts took him into the heart of New Orleans’ voodoo. His classmate, Evita, brings him to see her auntie. She offers him the mysterious bath that launches him into meeting Tandy in that freaky dream sequence.

The episode ends with Evita’s auntie making a 3D print voodoo doll of Tyrone. And that seems… a little weird.

When Tyrone and Evita arrived at her auntie’s house, she told Tyrone not to touch any of the voodoo dolls on her mantle. And now one of him sits among them.

It feels like that means we’ll return to Evita’s auntie at some point this season. That’s an odd stinger to have for an episode without going back to it ever again.

Plus with Tyrone kissing Evita before the episode ended, it feels like we’ll come back to it.

So then is it possible that the big bad of the season is her auntie alongside the faceless Roxxon Corporation? Someone has to be pulling the strings. We still don’t know much of what’s going on outside of Tyrone and Tandy, just that something keeps drawing them together.
