Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: A bear comes back
One of Game of Thrones’ best supporting characters is reportedly back for season 8, and honestly, things are looking up for good lines.
Warning: Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers are below, including some news about returning characters!
The White Walkers no longer stand a chance in Game of Thrones season 8.
Well, okay, they probably still stand a chance, but there’s now more hope than ever before, which counts for something, right? We say all of this because Watchers on the Wall reports that Lyanna Mormont herself, Bella Ramsey, has been shooting some scenes for season 8.
Of course, the take over there is immediately that there are some great scenes in store, which is absolutely not wrong.
However, on another level, we could end up seeing the destruction of Bear Island. Although it is on an island, we don’t think that would really stop the undead — or zombie Viserion in particular. That could force her and her surviving people to find shelter in Winterfell. We also suspect that there’s a huge battle set there anyway, and we might even get to see Lyanna take up arms as well.
WOTW also wonders about the idea of a Daenerys and Lyanna conversation just in terms of watching it happen, but there are some legitimate political ramifications for it. “We know no king but the King in the North, whose name is Stark,” anyone? Lyanna is pretty pro-Jon Snow as ruler of the North, and we’re not saying she’d defect to say, Sansa Stark or anyone else, but we are saying that things could get legitimately tense for a moment.

We’re still excited about the idea of Lyanna just taking up a sword, though, because can you just imagine Lyanna and Arya handling a few undead themselves? What a way to make an impression with season 8 of Game of Thrones, right?
And on this Monday, we’re definitely letting this idea sustain us a little.
