13. Christopher Hayden from Gilmore Girls

To send Christopher a card, he’d actually need to stick around for more than five minutes. That just doesn’t happen. The guy has a reputation for riding into town, ruining things with Lorelai, and leaving his daughter to pick up the pieces.

Every time Rory believes her father is there to stay, Christopher finds a way to disappoint her. It’s heartbreaking to watch, even though she clearly doesn’t need him. Lorelai is tough enough to play the role of both parents.

Plus, we all know Luke is basically Rory’s dad anyway.

14. Dan Scott from One Tree Hill

If there were a list of parents not to emulate, Dan Scott would be near the top. He abandons his high school sweetheart and their unexpected son, Lucas, in favor of his basketball career. Though they live in the same town as him, he refuses to acknowledge them or play an active part in their lives. Sadly, they’re the lucky ones.

Dan actually raises his other son, but Nathan is only more screwed up for it. Not only does Dan bully him and pressure him to make poor decisions, but he emotionally abuses his mother right in front of him. We’ve never been happier than when Nathan disowned him, and we’re betting he feels the same way.
