1. Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War

Thankfully, Thanos hasn’t had any children of his own. But he took Gamora and Nebula under his wing, and his time as an adoptive father hasn’t been full of warmth and affection. Though he cares for his daughters, Thanos rarely puts their happiness at the top of his priority list.

And if you’ve made it all the way to Avengers: Infinity War, you know that his pursuit of the Infinity Stones is far more important to him than his own children. So while it’s nice to know that some part of him cares for his daughters, he’s definitely disqualified from being top (or even middle) of any great dad list.

2. Darth Vader from Star Wars

Was there any doubt that Vader would make this list? “Luke, I am your father” are famous words that every pop culture nerd recognizes immediately. They’re also words that left Luke screaming “no” at the end of The Empire Strikes Back, and who can blame him?

It’s probably pretty upsetting to realize your father is a vicious Sith Lord best known for annihilating entire planets. Add in the fact that Vader spends the majority of the films attempting to kill Luke and his friends, and it becomes pretty clear that Vader isn’t quality dad material.

At least Vader does eventually defend his son against Emperor Palpatine. But really, it’s the least he could do after his wrongdoings throughout the entire film franchise. He definitely doesn’t deserve a card for it.
