3. Tywin Lannister from Game of Thrones

Tywin Lannister is a fantastic character from Game of Thrones, and he’s a force to be reckoned with. That said, he doesn’t get brownie points for being the greatest father in Westeros. He cares immensely for the Lannister legacy, but the same can hardly be said for the wellbeing of his three children.

Cersei and Jaime may not be the most morally sound people, but there’s a reason the two of them have so many issues. We’re willing to blame it on parentage. After all, Tywin was willing to sell Cersei to the highest bidder, regardless of her safety or feelings on the matter. And he never cared what Jaime wanted to make of his life, leading his son to choose joining the King’s Guard over remaining in Casterly Rock.

But the biggest reason Tywin won’t be receiving a card this year is the treatment of his youngest son. Even though Tyrion and Tywin are cut from the same cloth, Tywin never forgave Tyrion for taking his wife from him. It’s his loss since Tyrion is clearly the best of all his children… and the most worthy of inheriting Casterly Rock.

4. Stannis Baratheon from Game of Thrones

By the fifth season of Game of Thrones, Stannis Baratheon made Tywin Lannister look like the father of the year. Sure, Stannis was never someone to idolize. He treated his wife despicably over the course of the show, and he openly expressed disappointment over having a daughter instead of a son.

But he never turned his disappointment on Shireen. At times, he even seemed to love the girl.

Unfortunately, he didn’t love her enough to prevent Melisandre from sacrificing her for his cause. In fact, he was all for burning his only child at the stake to defeat the Bolton army.

Sorry, Stannis. We’re glad Brienne was there to do her duty and take you out.
