David Haller has a taste of the darkside in Legion’s ‘Chapter 18’

David Haller had a taste of evil on Legion and it seems as if that might make the dark future that Future Syd talked about a reality.

On Legion, David Haller has always struggled with the darkness in his mind. The entire first season, we watched him battle Farouk not knowing what was going on in his own head. This season? He’s plagued by the idea that he is the one to bring on the end of the world and, from this last episode, he’s beginning to like it.

Here’s the problem with this most recent episode: it was supposed to be the finale. Then FX decided they needed another chapter added to the second season, and thus we have “Chapter 19” next week. To be quite honest, it was a mistake. This episode had such an amazing tone and set up what could be a really great third season; it would be a disservice to carry it out just for more ratings.

That being said, we do have a “Chapter 19 episode” still coming to us. So while we see David turning into what everyone feared, there is still hope that something will snap and bring him back into the reality that he is the one who can cause the end of the world.

Again, it just goes to show you that you never really know what you’re going to get with Legion. Whether it is an insane episode where there are dance numbers or people coming to warn David from the future, it always leaves us on our toes and now, maybe David will end up evil after all.
