The Water Signs

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Tyrion Lannister

“Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you,” says Tyrion, and even if his sharp wit didn’t hide a particularly soft center, he’d be our pick to represent Cancer for the Game of Thrones zodiac.

Obviously “maternal” he may not be, but he does legitimately care about people — in particular, Daenerys Targaryen, Shae, his brother Jaime, and Tysha and Sansa (the two ladies he’s been married to). Astrology.com reminds us that water signs are particularly in touch with their emotions, noting that Cancers “tend to pick up on things and bring them in,” a good quality for the Hand of the Queen to have.

But beyond that, Astrology.com calls Cancers “moody,” and Tyrion has that tendency too.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21): Cersei and Jaime Lannister

Is it any surprise that these two would represent a water sign notorious for its strong sexuality? Sure, they’re twins, and they’ve had an incestuous relationship for most of the show, but there’s no denying that Cersei and Jaime are pretty heavily Scorpio for other reasons, too.

Cersei might counter “knowledge is power” with “power is power,” but she has the ambition, cunning, vindictiveness and comeback mentality that all also define Scorpios, as noted by Astrology.com. Meanwhile, Jaime best represents the loyal and emotional qualities of a Scorpio; he often hides genuine feelings beneath quick words and wit, but he does have those feelings — much like his brother, Tyrion.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20): Bran Stark

While the sign of Pisces might not be as well-known for its dual nature as Gemini, Astrology.com does point out that it’s still a strong feature of the sign, and that’s why we’ve chosen Bran. Although becoming the Three-Eyed Raven seems to have seriously changed his personality, before that, he was caught between the world of the real and the world of magic — thus giving him two natures of a sort.

That mysticism is also why Bran makes a good choice for a Pisces, and as for the emotions of a water sign … what better than Bran prior to his status as the Three-Eyed Raven? In those earlier seasons, he’s moody, but ultimately a good kid.
