Where There’s Smoke (Season 3, Episode 1)

In the season 3 premiere, the Sex and The City gals find themselves somewhere we never expected to see them: Staten Island.

The girls head over to Staten Island on the ferry when Carrie is one of the judges for the New York Fire Department’s annual male calendar finalists selection. Samantha, of course, ends up going home with one of the steamy hunks, while the other girls have some fun of their own. Or at least Charlotte does!

When Miranda and Carrie are ready to leave, they don’t know where Charlotte is… until they turn around and see her living her best life on the dance floor, dancing up a storm all alone. We don’t get to see Charlotte drunk and letting loose very often. So when she’s screaming and running around on the ferry, it’s hilarious to think of the perfect Manhattan WASP screaming off the side of the Staten Island ferry.

Samantha’s fantasy of bedding a fireman seems great, until a real emergency happens. The two of them get freaky in the firehouse, and when Samantha is trying to sex up the fireman’s uniform by wearing nothing but the pants and suspenders, the fire alarm goes off. A stream of firemen burst into the room while Samantha is standing there topless, and one of them starts yelling at Samantha to get his gear off because there’s a fire to get to.

Not so sexy, is it?

Carrie also meets a handsome politician while judging the competition in Staten Island, but she’s not sure he’s right for her. As we find out in the next episode that season, he might be into some weird stuff that Carrie just can’t behind, and we’re not talking about his political beliefs!
