11. When he set up a charity with his family

Not content with being a superhero on screen, Tom Holland used his power for good in real life when he helped launch charity The Brothers Trust, alongside his parents and brothers.

Through a series of events, including private screenings of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Infinity War with Tom in attendance, his group has raised money for other charities. Those include The Lunchbowl Network, which raises funds to feed children in Kenya, and Momentum, the children’s charity set up in the hospital where Tom and his brothers were born.

“The trust is keen to shine a light on charities who struggle to be heard in the noisy and competitive not-for-profit sector – and charities who can best demonstrate the most effective use of funds to profit the people in need and not on bloated administration,” reads the Brothers Trust website.

Money from the Trust has also been donated to the Epidermolysis Bullosa charity, DEBRA, after Tom’s dad saw a video of James Dunn, a young aspiring photographer with EB, who’s fundraised for the charity. James was invited to the first Brothers Trust event and established a friendship with Tom.

James took a portrait of Tom, which Tom then signed and sent to fans, with the proceeds going to DEBRA.

Unfortunately, James passed away earlier this year. But as his Tom’s dad, Dominic, wrote on The Brothers Trust blog, “Of all the illustrious people that Tom encounters in his blessed life, in the short time that he has known James, I venture that his impact on Tom will be indelible and as marked as any.”

We’re grateful the pair got the chance to meet through their great work and we’re sure the world is a better place for it.
