Meghan, Duchess of Sussex: The Wedding Dress

Get the Look: Bridal White Long Sleeve Open Back Fishtail Dress

After so much speculation as to who would be designing Meghan Markle’s wedding dress, we now have a sense of closure, and can all agree that she was a vision in a surprising Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy gown. One person who may disagree with this is a designer named Emilia Wickstead, who accused the house last week of ripping off a wedding dress that she created. Wickstead has dressed both Kate Middleton and Meghan in the past, and Jacinda Barrett (Real World forever!) wore a lovely maroon number as a guest to the wedding.

The Duchess’ look has also been compared to one that Audrey Hepburn wore for a Vogue shoot in 1964, which was also by Givenchy, and even a gown sported by Jennifer Lopez in The Wedding Planner.

Markle proved that she’s fit for her new family and job by gracefully side-stepping the drama and celebrating her love in front of a reported 29 million viewers. The chosen gown was perfectly simple, much like a blank canvas. Her veil; her tiara, borrowed from Queen Elizabeth II; and her escort, her mother Doria Ragland all made the statement instead. We’re excited that she’s already showing that she’ll be a royal of action.

Make your own statement in this form-fitting boat neck beauty. While we can’t necessarily recommend wearing a 16-foot veil on the reg, this dress will turn heads on its own. Consider topping it off with a tiara. We can always get behind a tiara.
