We ranked the most clueless Marvel characters because they can’t all be scientists
When it comes to Marvel characters, there are quite a few who do some dumb things. So why not talk about five of the most clueless characters in the MCU?
Marvel has a lot of geniuses to work with. From Tony Stark to Shuri, there is no shortage of intelligence. The same could be said about the idiotic nature of some of their characters as well. Whether it’s smashing things that should maybe not be smashed or ruining the entire universe, some characters just can’t seem to get it.
Looking at five of the most clueless characters in the MCU, it’s obvious that maybe there is a problem with how some of these characters think about things.
5. Hulk
While Bruce Banner is known for his intelligence, the Hulk, well, isn’t. The main moment comes in Thor: Ragnarok when Thor is trying to let Ragnarok happen and the Hulk is determined to fight the monster that is terrorizing Asgard.
In his mind, he must destroy the thing trying to destroy the planet. Thor, on the other hand, realized that this is meant to be. That doesn’t mean it was easy to get Hulk to stop smashing. Thor yells “For once in your life, don’t smash” and while funny, helps prove that maybe the Hulk isn’t that smart.
4. Mantis
Completely understanding of emotions, Mantis doesn’t seem to understand that you shouldn’t just call out what those around you are thinking. She tends to tell people what they are thinking rather than just understanding them and moving on.
It is cute and makes her adorable, but it also shows that she is a bit clueless about how to deal with other people. So it isn’t really surprising that she tends to be friends with Drax since he is pretty much the same in regards to what you should and shouldn’t say to people.
3. Drax
Speaking of Drax, he isn’t smart. There’s no easier way to put it. Drax is known for his strength, not his intelligence. And he tends to just jump the gun and ruin things because he’s not thinking. (Just think about how he acted in Infinity War!)
But in his defense, that’s probably how most people on his planet are. In the first Guardians movie, Rocket explained that everybody on his planet takes things literally — so we can only imagine that they all have a tendency to act without thinking first.
2. Stephen Strange
Look, yes he’s smart, but he’s also a complete D-bag. So he tends to be clueless in how he talks to people. Stephen Strange is hands-down the worst — just a guy who thinks he knows everything and goes out of his way to prove to everyone that he does.
Maybe it’s because his movie reminds us that this man wrecked his car because of his own stupidity and then wants the world to feel bad for him. Or maybe Stephen is just clueless about how others feel. But he isn’t great, and that’s what puts him on this list.
1. Peter Quill
Look, pretty much everyone is angry at him after what he did in Infinity War, so we can all agree he’s clueless, right? Or at least the worst. Peter lets his emotions run wild and because of that, things don’t end so well.
So yeah, he might be the “captain” of the Guardians, but he tends to make a mess of things first, Then Gamora always helps him figure out how to fix everything.

So while the Avengers and other characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are important and super intelligent, these five tend to air on the clueless side. Not to say we don’t love them, they just make a mess of things. And you can see them in Avengers: Infinity War out in theaters now!
