Criminal Minds (CBS)

Here’s a show that had a great run, and slowly started going downhill once the original cast started jumping ship.

For years, people watched Criminal Minds to see characters like Penelope Garcia, Spencer Reid and Derek Morgan solve complex criminal cases using their insane skills, but also fell in love with those characters for their charming, realistic traits. Who didn’t blush just a little bit whenever Morgan lovingly called Garcia his baby girl?

Since it premiered in 2005, the series has had some seriously heart-racing episodes (the one with the living dolls still haunts us), but without some of the original cast, it doesn’t have the same magic. Thomas Gibson, who played Hotch, was fired, and Shemar Moore left after season 11. They brought in Jennifer Love Hewitt, but she left after season 10 to raise her baby.

The show was recently renewed for a whopping 14th season, but like other long-running shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Supernatural, isn’t it time to let it go? They had some really amazing years on the air, and they produced episodes that will go down in TV history as being spine-chilling and terrifying. They managed to take the typical police procedural and put a much-needed spin on it.

Why not go out before the series becomes completely unrecognizable? They can only do so much without getting repetitive. They need to have a last season with a huge, unsolvable case that gives fans all the twists and turns they crave, and then go out with a bang.
