Someone inaccurately named all the Avengers but they’re honestly not too far off

Someone asked their wife to name all of the characters in Infinity War, even though she had no clue who most of them were. The results were hilarious.
It’d be an understatement to say that there aren’t enough characters in Avengers: Infinity War. If you haven’t kept up with all 18 Marvel Cinematic Universe movies so far, you could be in a real pickle if you tried to start wrapping your head around all the characters.
So when one woman was asked to name the characters despite not seeing most of the films, you can imagine things got pretty wacky.
Twitter user Gabrielle Regan-Waters shared a photo showing her wife’s names for the Infinity War cast and, yeah, things certainly got interesting.

The first four names were just the easy round. She got Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the Hulk pretty easily. After the first set, things got a little more tricky.
Take, for instance, Black Widow who she mistook for Rogue from the X-Men — or perhaps Nebula, who sort of could be Cyborg if it weren’t for that character being part of the DC universe. We guess we’ll give her points for naming Agent Maria Hill as Robin. Right actress, wrong character.
But then, there are some inaccurate names that are actually kind of true, whether she knew or not. Let’s take Wong from Doctor Strange, who she labeled as “Just a regular guy who gets caught in the crossfire.” When you think about it considering Infinity War, she’s not completely wrong.
How about Okoye as the War Maiden and Ayo as War Maiden’s Wife? Okoye certainly could have kicked W’Kabi to the curb and traded him for Ayo after the way he did her in Black Panther.
Since the Avengers go by their made up names anyway, we thought we’d take a stab at naming some of our favorite characters:
- Shuri: Q from James Bond But Better
- Nick Fury: Pirate Guy
- Thor: Angel Pirate Guy
- Hawkeye: Not Jason Bourne
- Iron Man: Goatee-Man
- Doctor Strange: Other Goatee-Man
- Gamora: Green Neytiri
- Grand Master: Jeff Goldblum (let’s be real here)
- Thanos: California Raisin Man
- Captain America: Just Another Chris
