Game of Thrones season 8 might have shut off access to a set, but that hasn’t stopped new photos from surfacing and changing the narrative yet again.
Warning: Depending on how you feel about photos of Game of Thrones season 8 sets, then you might find yourself encountering some spoilers below.
Here we thought we might have something resembling a break in Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers from Belfast. However, fans don’t sleep, and if fans aren’t sleeping, then neither will we, so that we can bring you the very latest in spoilers (and, of course, some theories on what those spoilers mean).
These come to us via r/freefolk, but the original tweet itself is from Eric Deering.
Granted, it’s a little blurry, but we’d know those towers anywhere:
Of course, before you take this as gospel that the Lannister side does lose King’s Landing, there’s another photo reportedly from yesterday that does show the banners still flying. While we here at Culturess have searched for some clarifying photos, so far, we have none. We’ll let you know if we do.
Deering’s speculation that this is the Unsullied can’t really be proven either way — simply because the photo’s too blurry. Sure, the shapes look like they could be the armor of the Unsullied. But we can’t really say one way or the other without more information. If it is the Unsullied, though, it could mean that our current theory — that the Night King attacks a Lannister-held capital — might be wrong, or that a battle for the city is otherwise ongoing when the Night King shows up. Everything seems possible right now in terms of timelines.
Next: More spoilers: Silence returns
While that make some fans feel uncertain or worried, for us, it just means that there’s more to be discovered, and perhaps the season will still hold surprises even as we focus on the spoilers we do have. How do these photos affect your perception of season 8? Or will you, like us, wait for more confirmation?
