4 characters who should appear in Star Wars Resistance
If Star Wars Resistance is going to include Captain Phasma and Poe Dameron, then it can definitely also include these four characters.
In case you missed it yesterday amid all of the Avengers: Infinity War hype, we finally know what Star Wars Resistance is: an animated series to replace Star Wars: Rebels in terms of Disney XD’s lineup (but not in our hearts). With that announcement came the news that both Captain Phasma and Poe Dameron would show up.
That means that canon characters from the sequel trilogy are all fair game. If you’re not rubbing your hands together at the prospect, then we don’t know what to tell you.
Here’s our wishlist of characters who should show up in Resistance … preferably voiced by their actors, as both Phasma and Poe will be.
Paige Tico
She gets about 10 minutes to make a huge impact on Star Wars: The Last Jedi before dramatically dying. It’s a shame, because if Paige Tico is anything like her sister, Rose, then she’s a great character that we should get to know better.
Since Resistance will focus on pilots, it makes total sense to have Paige get her moment in the spotlight alongside our new main character, Kazuda Xiono. Paige is also a gunner, so that would mean she can team up with other characters. Maybe she’ll even show Kazuda the ropes.
Rose Tico
We will take all we can get of Rose Tico, in both animated and live-action forms. She’s probably the least likely of the characters on this list to show up, just because she’s not a pilot. However, if Paige does show up, then expect Rose to be right behind her.
After all, showing their sisterly bond ono TV would bring a strong emotional component to the show. Rebels definitely excels in that area. If Resistance wants to have the same impact, then it should go for a Paige and Rose component.
Vice-Admiral Holdo
Laura Dern is an extremely busy woman, what with Big Little Lies and all. But if she can lend her voice to her apparently Force-sensitive Resistance leader, then by all means, bring Amilyn Holdo into the show. Much like Paige, we don’t know enough about her just yet, even if you’ve read Leia: Princess of Alderaan.
Additionally, she would make a good candidate for the commanding officer of Kazuda’s squadron.
Kylo Ren
Kylo Ren is on this list because we particularly like Kylo Ren, but also because we will take any and all opportunities to have Poe sass Kylo Ren. Can you imagine what fun the animators will have translating his expressions into an animated form? Then again, StarWars.com, linked above, does note that this series will have an anime feel to it. It might be easier than we think.
