Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD season 5 episode 19 preview: Option Two
Will Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD tie into Avengers: Infinity War? With an alien threat imminent in both TV and film, it might just happen!
It will be bonkers if this week’s Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD actually manages to tie into Avengers: Infinity War.
I mean, Thanos is coming to Earth. That’s not really something you can ignore. Don’t expect the Mad Titan to show up on your television, though. It’ll probably just be that some members of this mysterious Federation are also in cahoots with Thanos, which would make for a takeover on all fronts.
All of that being said, it’s looking like the world will be quaked apart sooner rather than later. Are our SHIELD compatriots still stuck in the same time loop? Do I ask this question every week? Does that mean we’re stuck in the same time loop?
The official synopsis for this week’s episode, courtesy of ABC:
"The team finds themselves trapped and under siege at the Lighthouse."
That’s not very specific. It gives us very little to go on. But it doesn’t line up with the flashbacks from the start of the season where everyone calmly packed things in cells to evacuate the world.
So being under siege at the Lighthouse might not be a bad thing … all things considered.
“Option Two” also sounds like a bad title for an episode, as if they have to settle for their second option of retreating.
How will the team feel about Elena killing Ruby? Will Mack forgive her (and FitzSimmons) for trapping him in Fitz’s cell? Can Daisy ever look Fitz or Simmons in the eye again without getting irrationally angry?
Next: Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD: Why is Daisy still leading the team?
Can you blame everyone for being a little frazzled at this point in time? If Elena brings up the fact that they need to let Coulson die, don’t expect it to be a quiet discussion.
