LIFEL1K3 – Jay Kristoff

Jay Kristoff is on a roll releasing books lately, and LIFEL1K3 is his next novel to hit bookstores. This science fiction release is set on a “junkyard beneath a radiation sky,” per Goodreads. That setting alone is enough of a reason to go out and grab this, but it gets even better.

According to the synopsis, there are some important things buried in that junkyard — namely, secrets. Our protagonist, Eve, uncovers one of these secrets in the form of an android called Ezekiel. This discovery sends Eve, Ezekiel and their friends on an unexpected adventure full of danger and surprises. Unfortunately, some of these surprises could upend everything Eve knows about herself.

Some other exciting tidbits from the synopsis include robot gladiators, the power to destroy technology with a single thought and an unfriendly, puritanical Brotherhood. Does this not sound like the most epic science fiction novel you’ve heard about in a while?

LIFEL1K3 comes out on May 29, so readers don’t have long to wait for it. In the interim, you can totally pick up Kristoff and Amie Kaufman’s Illuminae Files series, which recently concluded with the release of ObsidioWhile there aren’t any robot gladiators in that series, it also takes you on an action packed adventure through space. It’s great preparation for LIFEL1K3.
