Scandal season 7 is reaching its pinnacle. While Olivia didn’t return to the dark side last week, danger looms large.

According to ABC, Scandal season 7 episode 17, “Standing in the Sun,” features the following synopsis:
"Cyrus and Jake’s mission to take the White House reaches a new level of deceit when Liv is called to testify against Mellie."
While Scandal fans always knew that Cyrus was bad, who would have guessed that Jake was so evil? All those years in B6-13 might have scarred him. Still, did anyone guess that he would kill Vanessa? Who knows how Vanessa’s death will be explained away. Maybe someone will blame Huck.
Jake’s ruthless actions show just how far he is willing to go. There is no way that Jake and Cyrus will easily allow Mellie to stay in the White House. Some huge power play or desperate act will be necessary to keep Mellie in power.
Mellie seems determined to stand strong. The final moments of last week’s episode shows Mellie at her strongest yet. Finally, she appears to want to be in charge and secure her place in history. Yet, the scandal looms.
The big turning point could be Olivia’s testimony. If Olivia can add some little tidbit that points the finger away from Mellie, the tide could turn. Olivia needs to ensure that she doesn’t incriminate herself or her team. Can she figure out a way to balance the scales of justice?
