Tuesday night brings us an all-new episode of Black Lightning. Here’s a preview of what’s coming on “The Resurrection and the Light: The Book of Pain.”
In the land of super pretentious, where Stephen Amell seems to live, the Arrow star went ahead and said that Black Lightning would eventually cross over with other DC Comics shows on The CW. While we all knew that to be the likely scenario, hopefully, Arrow will be canceled before then. More importantly, Black Lightning deserves a few seasons to establish its own universe first.
For some reason, Amell (and Arrow, by association) think they’re the best thing to happen to DC since sliced bread. However, Arrow won’t boost Black Lightning. It would most likely be the other way around. Moreover, Black Lightning is the only DCTV show worthy of name-dropping Batman, and no one was overwhelmed when Arrow got to it first.
Obviously, many of us would prefer if Black Lightning remained distant. So far, the show continues to do such a great job of showcasing all kinds of dynamics, like crime, racial injustice, and fatherhood.
Heading into episode 12, let’s check out the synopsis for what’s ahead:
"Tobias returns to Freeland. He is tasked to capture — not kill — Black Lightning with the help of an unexpected source. After a battle of epic proportions, Anissa and Jennifer provide surprising aid."
The “unexpected source” would be the ASA. It looks like they’ll employ just about anyone in order to capture Black Lightning. Also, it looks like this will be the episode where we see both Pierce daughters really spring into action.
