Black Lightning episode 11: Is Black Lightning ready to face Tobias Whale?

The next episode of Black Lightning promises Black Lightning and Tobias Whale will face off in round 2. So, who will win in next week’s new episode?

The major conflict in “Black Jesus: The Book of Crucifixion” involved Jefferson’s arrest as the ASA discovered that he and Black Lightning were one and the same. To clear his name, Gambi and Anissa (as Thunder) used a hologram to make it seem as though Black Lightning helped save the day. Thus, the Freeland police had no choice but to release Jefferson.

Thanks to the promo for next week’s episode, we know that the ASA won’t give up anytime soon. In fact, it looks like they want to reach out to the one person who defeated Black Lightning once before — Tobias Whale.

After 12 episodes, we must ask ourselves whether Black Lightning is ready to face off against his number one enemy. Obviously, Tobias feels as though he has a lot to be mad about. Considering what happened to his sister and their history together, we shouldn’t expect Tobias to go down easy.

More importantly, we know about Tobias’ involvement with Green Light. Most likely, he has a lot of extra tricks up his sleeves as he prepares to annihilate Black Lightning. However, since they last met, Black Lightning has a few surprises of his own — namely his two superpowered daughters.

Typically, Black Lightning tries not to unleash all of his power at once. When he faces Tobias, he might decide to rethink this tactic. Tobias also employs a helpful henchman, so Black Lightning should loop Gambi in, too.

At the end of last night’s episode, it appeared that Gambi and Jefferson were on the mend. So, it makes sense that the entire Pierce family and Gambi will unite to defeat Tobias and other threats in Freeland. Following Henderson’s upgrade to deputy chief, they should use him as well.
