According to ABC’s synopsis for tonight’s episode of Scandal, “(w)hen Charlie is taken into custody for the hijacking of Air Force Two, Quinn is faced with an important choice; Cyrus sets out to recruit Jake to join him on his quest for the White House.”
Looking at how the details are unfolding, Cyrus’ plan is quite genius. He systematically took David out of the hijacking investigation because David was on the plane. The whole event pushed Cyrus into the spotlight as the Washington D.C. darling. Any misstep by Mellie would certainly give Cyrus an edge to waltzing into the Oval.
Even though the plan was smart, can Cyrus actually pull of the scheme? Aligning with Jake seems like a precarious move. Jake had wanted to take out Cyrus earlier this season and he definitely has more control than Cyrus. Could Jake be secretly plotting to control everything?
With Charlie imprisoned for the hijacking, the gladiators need to get back together to fight for what is right. If Quinn can put aside Olivia’s missteps to get the father of her child out of jail, it would be smart. No one in Scandal is without misdeeds. Olivia’s weren’t more heinous than others. It’s just her actions were more uncharacteristic.
