The Marvel Cinematic Universe movies ranked by hilarity
3. The Avengers
It is incredibly hard not to just make this entire entry quotes from the film. Did anyone actually believe this film would work so well? It’s still one of my favorite movies of all time, too.
The humor is on-point. The tension between Stark and Rogers shows shades of Civil War before it was even a thought. Thor being completely out of place. The nervous energy of Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner. The dynamic between Natasha and Hawkeye. Agent Coulson’s constant fanboying over Captain America. Everyone melds so well, and the humor reflects that.
Everyone then teaming up against Loki makes for a even more fun time, especially when it ends up with a scene like the above that cracks up your whole theater.
…Now can I just quote?
All of Stark’s nicknames for his cohorts (Legolas, Point-Break, Reindeer Games). “He’s adopted.” “I understood that reference!” “…I’m listening.” “Genius billionaire playboy philanthropist.” “That man is playing Galaga!” “So this all seems … horrible.” “Doth Mother know you weareth her drapes?” “You and I remember Budapest very differently…” “His first name is Agent.”
All of that being said, The Avengers was such a fun outing and so easily quotable. It’s hard to live up to the hype, but this film did it and it did it with so much humor.
